BEAST OF THE BRAZOS IS BACK
Join us on October 3rd, 2021!
The Beast of the Brazos is an open water swim downriver in between the banks of the Brazos River in Waco, TX. This swim features a similar route as the 2020 Ironman Waco 70.3 and the 2020 Ironman Texas. All registered swimmers will receive a swim cap and t-shirt, as well as a finisher’s medal for those who make it past…The Beast!
- 11am-12:15pm: Packet Pickup/Late Registration
- 12:15pm-12:30pm: Opening Ceremony at Indian Springs Park
- 12:30pm: Call for 2.4 mile participants to Pecan Bottoms dock staging
- 12:30pm-1pm: 2.4 mile staging
- 1pm-3:20pm: 2.4 mile swim with mandatory cut off time at 3:20pm
- 1:15pm: Call for 1.2 mile participants to Pecan Bottoms dock staging
- 1:15pm-1:45pm: 1.2 mile staging
- 1:45pm: 1.2 mile swim with mandatory cut off time at 2:55pm
The Beast of the Brazos will be following the same guidelines as the World triathlon corporation/Iron Man races as follows: “Ironman triathlon races have a minimum water temperature that athletes will be allowed to wear a wetsuit. The swim portion becomes “Wetsuit Legal” when the water temperature is at or below 76.1F/24.5C. The swim portion becomes “Wetsuit Optional” when water temperatures are between 76.2F/24.55C and 83.8F/28.8C. And, the swim portion becomes “Wetsuits Prohibited” when water temperatures are above 84F/28.8C."

If you must cancel your participation for any reason, a letter for your donation to The Greater Waco Sports Commission, a 501c3, can be provided upon request. There are no refunds, transfers, or deferrals for any reason outside of the event canceling due to Covid restrictions. Thank you for your understanding and your support of our organization!

It is a good race to swim the same course as the Waco 70.3. It was well organized.
