5K Run for Urban Youth

Our Family Friendly 5K Run for Urban Youth takes you through the vibrant southend neighborhoods of historic Oak Park, IL. The start & finish lines are conveniently located a few blocks from the CTA Blue Line, near Rehm Park. Whether running for a PR on our fast flat course or walking with family & friends, you'll enjoy this event's high energy & supportive atmosphere. Running the Chicago Marathon? This is the perfect event to kick-off your training.

This race will feature the following: CHIP timing from Ipico Sports, t-shirt, custom medals for the top 3 males and top 3 females in each age division, and custom medals & Gift Certificates for the top 3 males overall and top 3 females overall. Participants will also be eligible for a bib raffle that includes lots of exciting prizes.

The proceeds for the 5K Run for Urban Youth go toward 931 Basketball. The mission of 931 Basketball is to support, empower, and help facilitate the success of their athletes on and off the court. Through basketball they are committed to excellence in both coaching and player development. Beyond basketball, they are dedicated to mentorship, maximizing academic potential, and providing pathways to more engaged citizenship.

REGISTER before SUNDAY, MAY 21 at 11:59PM for the Early Bird Pricing of $20.00 / $15.00 (Under 13)

Price increases $5 after May 21.

In order to guarantee your T-Shirt size, you must register by noon on Friday, June 2.

Friday, June 16, 7:00AM - 12:00PM and 4:00PM - 7:00PM

Saturday, June 17, 7:00AM - 7:50AM

LOCATION: Rehm Park, Oak Park (near Scoville Ave. Cul-de-sac)

REQUIREMENT for Packet Pick-up: You must bring a photo ID or confirmation email to receive your Packet.

MISCELLANEOUS:

• Pre and Post Race Activities will take place in Rehm Park.
   
• The race will begin at 8:00AM near the corner of Scoville Ave. & Harvard St. (0.1 miles from the southern edge of Rehm Park)
  
  
• On street parking is available near Rehm park with the exception of streets closed for the event.
  
  
• Strollers are permitted; however, participants with strollers must start with the walkers.
  
  
• An Award ceremony will follow the completion of the race in Rehm Park (near the bottom of the Scoville Ave. Cul-de-sac). The participant raffle will also take place at this time.
  
  
• Beverages, bananas, and bagels will be provided following the race.
