2020 Miles of Hope for the Bay

2020 Miles of Hope for the Bay Race Description

LET"S REBOOT MEDAL MONDAY!!!  RUN 2 DISTANCES VIRTUALLY AT YOUR PACE IN YOUR SAFE SPACE!

We are looking to reach 2020 miles run for the homeless in this race.

Join the Bay Area's virtual Miles of Hope Challenge benefiting Back On My Feet - San Francisco.  There are two distances to choose - 1M and 5K, Medals are available once proof is shown for completing the registered distance(s).  And yes, you can run both distances and receive 2 medals.

Is there a discount for running clubs?

Absolutely. If there are 10 or more persons in the running club, we can provide a discount of $10 off each distance.  We can also coordinate bringing the medals to a dedicated day/time that the running club wants to run either the 1M or 5K. Send the race director an email for more details.

How do I get my medal(s)?

Simply register and run the race and email the results to the race coordinator as an image from your fitness/sports watch.  Your medal(s) will be shipped to you.  The deadline to submit your running results is 9/30/2020.

If you are in Oakland or nearby and run before 8/31, you can pick up your medal on 8/31 between 6PM and 8PM PM PST at Lake Merritt, next to the Boathouse opposite of the picnic tables.

Where do the proceeds go?

All net proceeds will be donated to Back On My Feet which focuses on providing a second-chance for those who have fallen on hard times (especially veterans) and need shelter, job training, financial literacy, career guidance and placement, and housing placement within 60 - 120 day time frames.

Will there be an in-person race?

As soon as the pandemic is reasonably over (California health officials witness a sharp decline in cases), we will begin the 2021 in-person race as a followup to the one done last November.
