Trooper Samuel Bullard 5K Race Description
Coming to the rolling hills of beautiful Elkin in the heart of the Yadkin Valley, it's Trooper Samuel Bullard 5K! The 5k course loops through the historic downtown area.
Trooper Samuel Bullard 5K will benefit the NC Trooper Association Caisson Unit. When a law enforcement officer dies in the line of duty they deserve the highest possible tribute. The North Carolina Trooper's Association Caisson Unit, based in Goldsboro, is a big part of making that happen.
A group of strong, beautiful horses are ridden by North Carolina troopers solemnly pulling the "caisson" that carries the flag draped casket of a fallen public servant.

Fantastic Run
This race was so excellent. The organization was exceptional. The T-shirts were well thought. The course was ideal. Plenty of food afterward. Bounteous door prizes. Most importantly the recognition of an officer who gave his life and service to others. What a wonderful race.
