Tails N Trails

Welcome to Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society (BENCHS) 1st Annual Family/Dog-friendly FUN RUN/WALK 5K. 

This is an untimed fundraising event open to adults, children and leashed dogs of all activity levels.  Tails N Trails Fun/Run Walk will take place through two of lower North Mankato/Mankato area scenic park trails.  Post finish line activities will include local vendors, snacks, water, and more. 

BENCHS provides impound services for stray cats and dogs in North Mankato and Mankato and surrounding areas. Our mission is dedicated to finding loving forever homes for those homeless cats and dogs that are brought to our shelter, we use spay/neuter programs to reduce the number of unwanted pets, and microchipping to help reunite lost/found animals with their owners.

BENCHS is a 501(c)(3), non-profit animal shelter with limited paid staff and relies on community support, generosity of donors, volunteers, grants and fundraising events to maintain quality care for the animals in our care.

Sorry, No refunds - The race will go on, rain or shine!

In the event of inclement weather there will be indoor activities offered.

EVENT PARKING

Parking is available in the parking lot across from Spring Lake Swimming Pool/Warming House.

EVENT DAY

Post finish line activities include local vendors, dog friendly activities, snacks, water, pizza concessions

DOG SAFETY POLICIES

 •Bring dog waste bags, CLEAN UP DOG WASTE

          **Bring $1 per dog to enter Doggy Doo Lottery – See details below

 •All dogs on a leash held at no more than 4 feet length

 •No Retractable leashes 

 •Stay 2 feet from other dogs, do not try to make friends

 •Do not pet unfamiliar dogs unless you are invited

 •Kids should never pet an unfamiliar dog

Doggy Doo Lottery:  Bring $1 for a wrist band for a 50/50 drawing at 10:30am

At registration table enter your dog's (or any pet) first and last name into drawing – Must be present

 **If your dog DOES Poo along the trail, turn in your dog waste bags

to the registration table after crossing the finish line and receive

a coupon for a free doggy donut from the Doggy Donut stand.
