ABOUT STRIDES FOR SCHOLARS

Strides for Scholars is a timed 5K Run, Walk, and Youth Fun Run designed to promote fitness and fellowship among supporters of education and to raise funds to benefit the programs of the Bay Education Foundation. Proceeds benefit Take Stock In Children scholarship and mentoring program for local kids, Grants for Great Ideas (a grant program for classroom teachers), and the Greener Grass Employee Tuition Assistance.  Everyone from rocking chair champions to serious competitors are invited to join us on at the corner of 10th Court and Balboa Avenue for the 5K. Pre-registration and on-site registration will be available. A grab & go breakfast and awards ceremony will follow.  

Early registration discounts end on February 1, 2023 so don't delay!!  

What is the schedule?

The Fun Run race for 11 & under begins at 9 AM. Immediately following that race (around 9:15 AM) we will begin the 5K.  9:00 AM Fun Run; 9:15 AM 5K Race Awards immediately following the race. Grab & Go breakfast available all morning!

Where do I park? Parking is available at the following locations.
Nelson Administration Building      1311 Balboa Ave., Panama City, FL
Palm Bay Elementary      1104 Balboa Ave., Panama City, FL
Trinity Lutheran Church      1001 W. 11th Street, Panama City, FL           

When can I get my T-shirt and my bib?  We have packet pickup on Friday, Feb. 17 from 1-5 PM at the Nelson Building. You can otherwise get your bib & t-shirt in the morning before the race begins in the parking lot of Trinity Lutheran Church. 

What is the race route?  The START/FINISH line is at the intersection of 11th St. & Balboa Ave.  The race route will be posted the week prior to the race on our Facebook page or you can view it here: Course Map

AWARDS

Strider Award  This award is given to the school with the most bibbed participants. First and Second place will be awarded.

5K Top 10 Male and Top 10 Female runners will be awarded.  All Fun Run participants will receive an award.
