SNDA Oral Cancer Walk & 5K Race Description
The American Cancer Society estimates over 51,000 people will be diagnosed with oral cancer in 2018, and approximately 1 in 5 will not survive. Be a part of the solution and join University of North Carolina’s Student National Dental Association as we work with our community to promote oral cancer awareness.
Proceeds generated from SNDA's Oral Cancer Walk & 5K will be donated to the Oral Cancer Foundation, which funds life-saving research to reduce the incidence of oral and oropharyngeal cancers in the U.S. population.
Kick-off will feature UNC School of Dentistry's very own A Capella group, the Cingulums. You can also cool off with us afterwards at the post-Race Health Fair as we partner with UNC School of Medicine and UNC School of Pharmacy to offer free oral cancer screenings, blood pressure and glucose readings, and medication reviews on-site.
