Exciting Announcement: Introducing the RGV Distance League!

Hello Everyone,

I hope this email finds you well! I am thrilled to announce the launch of the RGV Distance League, an all-new cross-country league for the Valley region, specifically designed for students in grades 4-6. This league is open to all young athletes, whether they attend private or public schools, providing a fantastic opportunity for them to engage in competitive running.

Key Highlights:

• Participation: Students can compete as part of a team or run unattached if they do not have enough teammates (5 required).
• Race Format: The RGV Distance League will feature three races this year. The first two will be invitationals, culminating in a championship meet.
• Incentives: Every registered runner will receive a t-shirt and a finisher medal at the championship meet. Each team who wins the meet for each event will get recognition and a team trophy at the Championship Race. Also, top 10 runners at each race will receive an award. Ribbons by placing top 10 at the first two events and a medal at the championship race.

Race Details:

• Distance: 2 miles for both girls and boys
• Locations: Various beautiful venues in the Upper Valley

Tentative Schedule:

• Nov. 2: Edinburg Municipal
• Nov. 9: Chapin Hike & Bike Trail, Edinburg
• Nov. 16: Bensten Palm Community Park, Mission

Registration Information: The cost to participate in the RGV Distance League is $55 per student, which includes eligibility for all three races, along with the championship t-shirt and medal.

To ensure the success of our inaugural season, we need a minimum of 60 runners registered. If you know of any other schools in the RGV area that might be interested in joining us, please share this information and the registration link. Deadline to register is 10/09/24 by 11pm. Please rest assure if we do not reach our quorum of 60 participants, everyone will receive a fun refund.
