Rainbow Run 5K and 1 Mile walk for wellness and equality Race Description

6th AnnualALGBTICRainbow Run 5K & 1-Mile Walk for Wellness & Equality

-A portion of the proceeds benefit a local LGBTQ+ non-profit (TBD) which serves the New Orleans community. This year the organization is NOAGE!

You can check out this great organization soon at:https://www.noagenola.org

New Orleans Advocates for GLBT Elders (NOAGE) was created from a steering committee of concerned residents and older adult service providers to address the challenges facing LGBT older adults in the New Orleans area.

The unique challenges faced by LGBT older adults require a unique response. NOAGE hosts socialization/educational events for LGBT older adults, and works to increase the cultural competency of providers through trainings and workshops.

As advocates on behalf of the LGBT older adult community, NOAGE is committed to ensuring that all LGBT older adults can live their best lives with the dignity, respect, and good health that they deserve.

Come give back to the community and support LGBTQ equality, counseling and mental health awareness!! Anyone from the public can attend including American Counseling Association (ACA) Conference goers and any interested parties!

For those not in New Orleans or leaving early please consider the VIRTUAL 5k run or 1 mile walk. You can run on your own and send us a pic for our Facebook page while still receiving a great t-shirt and medal, supporting a local organization, and having a great time!

We have great t-shirts and all finishers of the on-site and virtual 5kalso receive awesome medals made by Ashworth Awards (the same company who makes medals for the Boston Marathon!).

The Rainbow Run has diverse race categories including: Men, Women, Androgynous/Transgender, & Differently-Abled (Note: although RaceEntry.com does not allow one to register as androgynous, transgender or differently-abled you will be able to check in at packet pickup under any category. Please remind staff at registration you desire to be included in these categories).
