It's One Rad Run!

Rock on with us as we party it up and celebrate one of the most tubular eras of our time. We invite you to join us for the fourth annual fun filled, 80s themed 5k/10k event taking place in South San Jose at Hellyer County Park during the heart of the summer. Rock on with us as we party it up and celebrate one of the most tubular eras of our time. We encourage all participants to dress up in their favorite 80s wear. Rock those side ponies, sweatbands, neon belly tees and cut off jean shorts; whatever your little heart desires. Let's travel back in time and make some totally radical memories.

Where does the event take place?

The event will be held at Hellyer County Park, located in south San Jose, CA. The address is: 985 Hellyer Ave, San Jose, CA 95111. You can obtain additional information regarding the park via the following link: https://www.sccgov.org/sites/parks/parkfinder/Pages/Hellyer.aspx

Where can I park and is it free?

You can park within the county park grounds, however there is a fee to do so. The fee will be posted at the entrance gate as it changes throughout the year and is collected by the park. The typical cost is approx. $5. You are free to park on any public street or space, just be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your race so that you have time to do so.

Do I get any cool stuff?

Each participant, regardless of distance, will receive an awesome unisex cotton blend t-shirt and finisher medal. The shirts and medals will be totally rad, giving off that true 80s vibe. You'll want to rock these tees day after day just because they're super cool. We know you'll be posting your medal all over Instagram to show how awesome, hip and active you are all at the same time. Want more? Great! We will also host a raffel after the awards ceremony where participants can select from a number of awesome prizes. Total score!

Are there any awards?

Totally! We will be honoring age group and overall winners in both distances, male and female. The award ceremony time is to be held shortly after the completion of both courses.

Will there be any food?

Absolutely! We will offer fresh fruit, muffins, cookies, Waterloo Sparkling Water, Bare Crunchy Snacks & GoSqueez Applesauce (huge thanks to our 2019 sponsors!) Who doesn't love a vibrant snow cone in the summer? We sure do, so our friends at Kona Ice will be on site to serve up something delicious. Kona Ice will be available for an additional, yet very reasonable fee. Prices begin at $3 per snow cone. We know you already want one. :)

Can we bring our dog to the event? How about strollers & wheelchairs?

Yes, dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash at all times. If your pet is temperamental around other dogs and or children, then we ask that you please leave them at home. Strollers and wheelchairs are also more than welcome! The event takes place on a paved bike path, suitable for all wheeled units.

We do ask that you please be courtious to the other athletes and place yourselves, with your dog and or stroller, at the back of the pack to avoid injury or conflict.

When and where is packet pickup?

Packet pickup will be hosted by Sports Basement, located in the Campbell Pruneyard location at:

Pickup times are scheduled for: 4-8 PM
