Race Description

Are you a tough pumpkin? Find out this October 27 in Baton Rouge!

This is no ordinary 5k.

This 3.14 mile long race on the Mississippi River Levee is exactly 200 feet longer than a 5k. And, it is Baton Rouge's only Halloween costume race! Take the Tough Pumpkin Challenge and run "the pi" while holding a pumpkin!

All participants will receive a finisher's medal. A special medal will be awarded to those completing the Tough Pumpkin Challenge. Additional prizes will be awarded by age group. The best overall male and female in the standard race and Tough Pumpkin Challenge will be awarded a trophy.

Stick around after for awards, contests, food and entertainment in Halloween Town! Then, watch the Baton Rouge Halloween Parade roll by at 4 p.m.!

HALLOWEEN TOWN HAS BEEN MOVED BY THE CITY TO REPENTANCE PARK (BETWEEN THE OLD STATE CAPITOL AND THE RIVER CENTER) DUE TO CONSTRUCTION ON THE RIVERFRONT PLAZA.

The Pumpkin Pi 3.14 Mile Race and Tough Pumpkin Challenge is an official event of the Fifolet Halloween Festival. The festival is a week-long Halloween extravaganza in Baton Rouge which benefits 10/31 Consortium. Be sure to follow the Fifolet Halloween Festival on Facebook for updates on the race, Halloween Town, the Halloween Parade and all other festival events! Kick off the festival and celebrate all things Halloween with us at the Ghostly Gala on October 19!

Who knew that running with a pumpkin under your arm could be so challenging. Well organized with lots to do afterwards. Only issue was the course was well over 3.14 miles.
