Old Jo's Firecracker 5k Race Description
The race started as a "fun run" in 2007 in conjunction with the 4th of July Celebration in Saint Jo, Texas. Originally run on a gravel road to historic Katy Lake and beside the city's Boggess Park, the race as grown to a certified 5K course on mostly paved streets through historic downtown Saint Jo with an added taste of pure country road.
All proceeds from the 5K Race stay in Saint Jo and benefit Easy Street Animal Shelter, a "no kill" rescue and shelter for homeless or abandoned domestic animals, and the Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce's 4th of July Celebration and Santa on the Square - among other activities for the town.
