Lake Country Gymnastics 5K and Fun RUn

Lake Country Gymnastics (LCG) is hosting a race on Saturday, March 5, 2016, to raise money in support of its competition team and also to also raise funds for Snowball Express. The race will be held at the Oconee River Greenway at HWY 22 E at the River Bridge with the Fun Run beginning at 8am, followed by the 5K run at 9am. Lake Country Gymnastics expressed a strong desire to give back. Snowball Express was the chosen charity as it gives LCG the opportunity to give back to a kid’s organization to the fallen heroes of these great United States. Over the past decade, true American Heroes, the men and women of the United States Military and their families, have made and continue to make extraordinary sacrifices to protect our freedom. That's why Snowball Express was started. They provide hope and new happy memories to the children of military fallen heroes who have died while on active duty since 9/11. They bring children together from all over the world for a five-day experience filled with fun activities, like sporting events, dances, amusement parks and more. Each year with the help of sponsors and volunteers, they are able to bring together children of our fallen military heroes from all over the world for 5 days of making new memories and honoring their parent’s sacrifice. Plans are well under way and we are looking to build upon the success of a well-attended race. This will be our 2nd race and we hope that we can do this yearly.
