Heart Strong 5K

Join us for a FUN Spring run/walk ( 5K ) around the Lake and through the streets of Sterling at Bungalow Lakehouse on a crisp spring morning.

RACE BENEFACTOR: The Bungalow Lakehouse “Heart Strong” 5K will benefit the American Heart Association.

SWAG: Registered participants will receive an exclusive “Heart Strong” technical race shirt!

SINGLE RUNNERS: Always welcome!!

TEAM FUN: Make the run even more fun and run with friends! Team awards will be given to the top teams in the 5K. Your team may be as large as you like, but must have a minimum of four members including at least one female. The top four times will be combined to determine each team’s scoring time. Team members must register under the same group name so we can accurately track your team’s time. Students running for a school team should state their school name. Other teams should list their company or organization (i.e. Leesburg Area Running Club or Team Topgolf)

TIMING: This race will be timed by NOVA Race Timing LLC using chip timing. Results will be available immediately after the race and will be posted on www.PaceMakersRun.org.

AGE CATEGORY: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29,30-24,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over

AWARDS: Awards will be given just as soon as all times have been calculated, both individual and team awards. Top 3 male overall and top 3 female overall, as well as top 3 male/female in respective age groups. Awards must be picked up post-race and will not be mailed.

POST RACE PARTY: While waiting for awards you are welcome to a specialty drink provided by Pace Makers Running Company and post-race snacks courtesy of Wegman’s. Massage Hope will also be on hand to massage away any achy muscles post-race. Please make sure you stick around and enjoy the great surroundings lakeside.

PACKET PICK-UP: Road Runner Sports of Sterling has graciously offered to be our packet pick-up site. On Friday, April 7th from 6:00pm -8:00pm, Saturday, April 8th from noon – 2:00pm and day of race, April 9th starting  at 7:00am. You may pick up your fully stuffed swag bags that will contain your tech t-shirt, chip timer and pins, loads of valuable coupons and offerings. Packets must be picked up at one of the designated times.

Course description:

Starting at Bungalow Lakehouse and going around the lake onto main streets of Sterling and back to Bungalow Lakehouse for some refreshing drinks and a massage!

Directions to start:

The run starts promptly at 8:00 am. We recommend arriving early and giving yourself enough time to get your race packet (If you missed the previous two days packet pick-up at Road Runner Sports) and get to the start line. Runners should start in the front. Walkers toward the back. Anyone with a stroller will need to start in back.

Parking:
Parking is available in the Bungalow Lakehouse parking lot. Please carpool if you can!!! If you can not stay for the award ceremony and post race festivities, please follow the race exit signs.

This race will be chip timed and certified!
