The Eighter from Decatur Bicycle Rally is a charity bicycle ride that benefits Raquel's Wings for Life, an organization that flies local cancer patients to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, for treatment free of charge to the patient. This event is a fun-filled, family-friendly ride designed to get our participants out of the city to enjoy the back-country roads of Wise and Montague counties, all while raising money for a worthwhile cause. The countryside is beautiful, the roads are good, the people are friendly, and the after-rally meal is free! Come join us for a great rally and fun day!
For those who are coming in from out of town and don't wish to drive in the morning of the race, we are offering camping the night before the event, a place to pitch your tent, or park your RV or camper. Be aware that there will be no facilities except port-a-potties. There will be no electricity, water, or sewer hookups. Camping is first come, first serve.
Parking on the day of the event is at the airport, and parking assistance will be provided. Please feel free to bring whatever will help you feel comfortable during the rally route, but do remember that helmets are required - you cannot ride the route without one.
Registration begins at 6 am. You can pick up your registration the week before the rally at Decatur Municipal Airport, 351 Airport Drive, Decatur, TX, 76234, or at the event itself.
