CleftStrong 5k Race Description
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING FOR THE 2020 CLEFTSTRONG 5K
Covid 19 and the 2020 CleftStrong 5k The CleftStrong 5k Committee is working hard to plan the 2020 CleftStrong 5k event given the current situation. Unfortunately, refunds are not available for this event because we must begin planning for your participation immediately upon registration. In the event a decision is made that prohibits gathering in San Antonio, Texas on October 10, 2020 as planned, all paid San Antonio registrants will be notified and given the option to:
1) access their registration confirmation email to transfer their live registration option to the virtual race registration option by the virtual race registration deadline of 8/20/20 (action required) OR
2) do nothing and opt to donate their full race registration fee directly to the cause (no action required).
What can I expect this year?
- All New 2020 CleftStrong Private Facebook Group Here you can post your pictures, start and finish line victories, personal goals, time results, and inspiring stories along with everyone else coming together in support of the CleftStrong mission.
- Free standard US Mailing of all race packetsRace packets All race packets will be mailed to all participants who have registered by 5 p.m., CST on 9/10/20 via standard US mail at the end of September, before race day, and free of charge! A late registration period will be offered after 5:00 p.m., CST on 9/10/20 with a price increase. Please know that if you register during late registration, there is a chance that all items needing to be mailed (hat and/or shirt + finisher medal) will be received after the race. All other race packet items are available digitally and immediately upon registration for your run!
- Fun Awards Adults and children may post their fiesta costumes to the 2020 CleftStrong 5k Official Facebook Group page to be entered into the best adult and child costume contest. Winners will be announced and awarded on October 17th along with the creators of the largest team and highest fundraising teams!
- Finisher Medals + Digital Bib + Digital Result Certificate All participants will gain immediate access to their digital bib upon registration. A digital result certificate may be customized after the race with personal results! Placement medals will not be awarded this year, due to the event not being timed.

THE CAUSE
All proceeds raised from the 5k and kids fun run event will benefit the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association's mission to advance patient care and research for individuals affected with cleft lip, palate and other craniofacial anomalies. Children born with cleft lip and/or palate have the immediate need for proper medical assistance form the moment they are born and a continuation of proper care, varying from one child to the next throughout their developing Years. Your registration will not only sign you up for a memorable morning, but it will also help advance critical cleft/craniofacial research and patient care. In addition to the funds raised through the CleftStrong 5k and Kid Fun Run this year, CleftStrong hopes to host a Silent Auction benefit supporting local ACPA approved Cleft and Craniofacial clinics that serve families in the craniofacial community across Central and South Texas. If successful in our additional efforts this year, all funds raised through the 2020 Silent Auction benefit will be combined with all funds raised online through the local charity benefit to serve the local cleft and craniofacial community.
