Open Run - Volunteers

Since 2015, NYRR Open Run has brought communities together through free, weekly running and walking events in neighborhood parks across the greater New York City area. The program encourages people of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels to enjoy outdoor activities, stay active, and connect with others in their local communities. Led by dedicated volunteers, these welcoming events provide a friendly environment where everyone can participate at their own pace, whether they are experienced runners, beginners, families, or casual walkers. No special equipment or previous running experience is required. Open Run focuses on promoting health, inclusion, and community spirit while making fitness accessible to everyone. Participants can enjoy beautiful park surroundings, meet new people, slope unblocked, build healthy habits, and experience the benefits of staying active together. Best of all, every event is completely free and open to the public.
