maCares Tribute 5K Run/2.5K Walk Race Description

The Inaugural maCares Tribute 5K Run/2.5K Walk is a timed event on September 9, 2017 at Country Park/Jaycee Park in Greensboro to honor service members and first responders from the past, present, and future. All proceeds will support the maCares & faith Cares Service Dog Support Program.

Strollers and friendly, leashed dogs are welcome. Enjoy the opening tribute ceremony and your choice of a 5K run or 2.5K walk, followed by an awards ceremony, food trucks, and exhibitors.

Want to support the maCares and faith Cares Service Dog Support Program, but can’t make it? Not to worry, you can still participate by being a Virtual Participant!!! A Virtual Participant can walk or run wherever is convenient on September 9th (or when you can).
When you sign up by August 20th, you can get an event shirt to wear while you are walking or running. Share video or pictures of you and your family and friends walking or running to support maCares by emailing the files to weCare@maCares.org.

WALL OF HEROES

Participants are encouraged to bring photographs, written stories, and memoirs of service members and first responders to post on our Wall of Heroes so all may appreciate and connect with these heroes. The maCares Wall of Heroes honors the incredible strength, courage, and sacrifices of service members and first responders from the past, present, and future. Those unable to attend the event, but would like to honor someone on the Wall of Heroes, may mail items to:
