For the twenty-second consecutive year, a run is being held in memory of Barron native Lyndon Ellefson, who died July 10, 1998 after falling into a deep crevasse in the Italian Alps while training for the Skyrunning World Championships. All proceeds from the run will be used to benefit the Barron Area Community Center. This year's proceeds will be put towards improvements in programming and facility updates.
We have two great options for running our Lyndon Ellefson Memorial 5K race. You can complete the run with us featuring our NEW 5K trail course through Rockman's Woods or complete your favorite 5K run virtually with family and friends (anyone 18 and under is 1/2 price!). All participants will receive a t-shirt, finisher medal, and goodie bag.
However, if circumstances are such that we cannot gather at the BACC September 12th, we will go totally virtual. That decision will be made by August 31st so that everyone receives their t-shirt, medal and swag bag by September 12th.
