What's Law Day 5K?

Whether you're looking to set a new personal best 5K time or stroll along the Lakewalk and enjoy the fresh air, Law Day 5K is for you! It's a chance to get together, get moving, and support Justice North (formerly known as Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota). 

Every day, countless individuals in our communities face overwhelming legal challenges—whether it's eviction, domestic violence, or issues related to healthcare. 

Unfortunately, many of these individuals do not have the means to seek legal help. That's where we come in. Justice North provides essential legal services, advocacy, and education to empower those who are most vulnerable.

Access to these services means that individuals and families live safer and more stable lives—and when you join us for Law Day 5K, you directly fund free legal help for Justice North clients!

• 5K RUN/WALK: It's a journey out and back along Duluth's scenic Lakewalk, starting and ending at Duluth East High School. Run it, walk it, or visit the finish line to cheer everyone on! 
• PRIZES: There are prizes in store for the top three runners! 
• SUIT UP FOR JUSTICE CONTEST: Unleash your inner legal superhero! There are also prizes for the top three "best dressed" participants – because justice is not just served, it's stylishly represented!
• RAFFLE: Feeling lucky? Support Justice North and snag your 50/50 raffle tickets for a chance to win some cash! The drawing will be held at 9:45 a.m., and you don't have to be present to win – justice favors all!
• POST-RUN CELEBRATION: After you cross the finish line, let's celebrate together! Stick around at Duluth East to enjoy refreshments, explore the Justice Bus mobile law office, and revel in the victory of supporting justice for all.

At Justice North, we are dedicated to the principle that equal access to justice is a basic human right regardless of background or circumstances. We believe that justice should be within reach for all—and your support will allow us to continue our work to make that a reality.

Where Does Your Stride Lead?

Every step you take supports Justice North. Support from the community directly funds our work assisting people facing civil legal challenges. This includes the unsheltered and those at risk of losing their home, survivors of domestic violence and their children, families and seniors in need of public assistance or facing wage garnishment, and more. The legal system is complicated, and navigating many of these issues without representation can be nearly impossible. You can help bring hope to someone's future today.

Registration Details:

Adult and Youth registration includes a Law Day 5K t-shirt.

Children 10 and under run free (no t-shirt included -- t-shirts are available to purchase separately).

Bringing the whole family? Great! Get a 20% off when you register 5 or more people at one time.
