Kickstart Kids' Hearts 5K Glow Run/Walk

DId you know that, in the United States, twice as many children die from congenital heart defects each year than from all forms of childhood cancer combined, yet funding for pediatric cancer research is five times higher than funding for CHD's?

Kickstart Kids' Hearts is a club created through the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown who support local children living with heart defects as well as The Pennsylvania Chapter of The Children's Heart Foundation. Every month, we actively participate in fundraising to support one child living with a heart defect. The money raised is used to purchase the child a gift basket and provide the family with a special gift as well. Due to the incredible participation from the community, we were even able to provide one child with Pittsburgh Penguins tickets!

100% of the proceeds from this race will benefit these local children and The Pennsylvania Chapter of The Children's Heart Foundation.

The race will be held throughout the beautiful campus of UPJ. Check-in begins at 5:00 pm, guest speakers at 6:00 pm, and the race will start between 6:30-7:00 pm. Check in will be held in front of Owen Library by the gazebo. Registration is open until race day and will cost $20. Children 5 and under are free!

Be sure to dress in your best "glow attire." Whether you have a crazy colored tutu, glow sticks, or a light up hat, do your best to be a bright as possible for this run! Some glow sticks will be provided before the race.

All participants will receive a goodie bag upon completion of the race and those who register by March 1st will receive a free T-shirt! There will be live entertainment as well as refreshments afterward.
