Are you an iron runner, a casual runner or even a walker … then come join us on Saturday, October 24th for the inaugural IRON MASON Freedom 5K. All the proceeds from this event will help support the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford, NC. The course will be laid out across the grounds or the Masonic Home and through some small neighborhood streets, so expect a mix of light ‘cross country’ (grass) and pavement. After the 5K event there will be a 1 mile fun run for children under the age of 13 (12 and under). Enter your kids and cheer them on through scenic driveways of the Masonic Home. If you cannot run or as in some cases (like me) you don’t care to run … please consider being a volunteer. Click the volunteer registration button for more information. Special surprise guests will be announced closer to race day! Highlights • Staggered start for runners and walkers • Race t-shirts for all runners and volunteers • Water stations along the course • Custom t-shirt designer onsite • Certified Athletic Trainer • Post race hospitality – drinks, fruit, and light snacks • Competitive divisions (gender and age; teams if able to accommodate) • General entry • Finish line clock • Awards for top finishers in competitive divisions *This event will be held rain or shine unless in the event of a natural disaster.
