Howard County Autism Society Walk and Run Race Description

Walk and Run with us on Saturday, October 5, 2019!

Centennial Park in Ellicott City, MD. Registration at 9 am. Walk and Run at 10 am.

Each fall the Howard County Autism Society’s One Step Closer Walk & 5K Run builds autism awareness and acceptance in the community, bringing together those touched by autism and the greater community in a supportive, energizing, fun environment that offers something for everyone!

  • Lake Walk of the same distance for those who would like to walk the route

  • A shorter three-quarter mile Amazing Racers course (formerly our Cake Walk) that offers an easy stroll combined with fun clues and prizes to support those needing 1:1 assistance. Also perfect for seniors or those looking for a shorter route!

We have runners and walkers who participate individually harness your fundraising power by joining or forming a team to run or walk. Either way, you’ll be able to reach out to your network of friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, to raise additional funds for the Howard County Autism Society!

For 25 years, the Howard County Autism Society (HCAS) has served individuals on the autism spectrum, their families and community by providing information, support, and advocacy; promoting awareness of autism that values the dignity and uniqueness of each individual; and working to improve the quality of and access to services and educational opportunities.
