Heart of a Warrior 5K Austin Race Description
Hello! Our names are Sandra Cong, Chris Fan, Brandon Qin, Brian Lee, Justice Yoo, Sanjay Balakrishnan, Nikita Karthik, and Jasmine Wang, and we’re officers of the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapters at Westwood High School. We are organizing a 5K called the Heart of a Warrior to raise money - we are partnered with HeartGift, a nonprofit organization based in Austin that raises funds to bring children with heart defects from around the world to finance their heart surgeries. Our event will take place on February 2nd, 2019 at the Brushy Creek lake park.
If this event is to become successful, the funds we raise would make a huge impact on a child’s life. All of our profits will be used in tandem with HeartGift to fund a child’s entry into the US and his/her heart surgery.
