The 3rd Annual Groundhog Day Triathlon is the perfect introduction to the 2022 Season and will be held at Club Westside located at 1200 Wilcrest, Houston, Texas. You will get 10 minutes for your swim, 10 minutes transition from pool to bike, 25 minute bike (spin bike), 5 minutes transition from bike to run, and 20 minute run. Each swimmer will share a lane for the swim, we will with have 12 swimmers that start each wave and a new wave will start every 5 minutes. The swim is in an outdoor pool, but the temperature for the water is always 82 degrees. The run is on an indoor track, but an outdoor run will also be an option if you prefer to run outside.

I’ve competed in three triathlon ITU World Championships representing TeamUSA. Nevertheless, this “in door” tri was a blast. The event was well organized, fun and competitive, but mostly FUN! I will look to this type of unusual format, knowing, if organized correctly, it will be a blast
