East Glacier Trail Tangle- NAOC/JTRR

1 mile runners will run an out and back. Look for a turn-around sign 1/2 mile down the trail. 4.9 milers will run along Powerline trail towards Mendenhall Glacier. Continue past the water hole, up the stairs, across the bridge, counter-clockwise around East Glacier Loop and return the way you came. Trail junctions will be marked with direction signs and small flags. Don't take the side trails that connect to Under Thunder Trail or the road - the course is always on trail. At the top of the East Glacier Loop avoid the temptation to go to the scenic outlook (you don't have a good view of the glacier there anymore anyway)...turn left at the top to head back down (a right turn will take you on the Nugget Creek Trail and you will be lost...though there is a nice 3 sided structure up there I am told).
