Church and State 5K Race Description

What if we served together? What if we still believed in and fought for a separation of church and state, but churches, schools, and law enforcement said that children in our city aren't going to be hungry on our watch? What if we figured out we could make our city a better place by serving together?

On Saturday, June 11 at 9 AM at Germantown Elementary School, Weems Creek Church, Elevate Church, Germantown Elementary, and the Annapolis Police Department will be partnering together for the Church and State 5Kto benefit Backpack Buddies, a program that provides food for children over the weekend who would otherwise show up on Monday hungry. Come run with us for something that matters

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I park?

There will be parking spots at Germantown Elementary School.  Feel free to park in the parking lot or, where signs permit, on the street.

Will there be food there?

Yes!  We will provide a free pastry breakfast for you to make sure you are loaded up on carbs for the run!  There will also be a water station set up along the run for you to hydrate during the run.

Can I walk?

Absolutely!  The long range forecast shows a high in the 70s and many people are going to be enjoying the morning by walking.

Do I get a t-shirt?

T-shirts are awesome.  And when you tell people about this event, you can tell them that you have truly, "Been there, done that, and got the t-shirt."  Yes, included in your registration is a free t-shirt!

Can I donate to Backpack Buddies at Germantown Elementary School if I can't be there?

You can.  Can't be there on race day?  Support Backpack Buddies with a Sleep-In Option.  We will get you a t-shirt and a goody bag if you make your sponsorship by June 1!  Click here to donate!

There will also be a Sleep-In option in which you simply pay the registration fee, receive an official Church and State 5K T-shirt, and enjoy sleeping in on race day! All proceeds will benefit Backpack Buddies at Germantown Elementary School.
