Chris Hall's Half K is sure to be so much fun and will probably sell out within hours.
The Half K is to sorta poke fun at the endless stream of 5k runs in town. It's good-spirited shenanigans that adults will enjoy. Best of all, proceeds go to Shasta Lake Kiwanis backpack program, where they give kids in need backpacks full of food every Friday during the school year.
Participants with "run" (walking is fine) in a Half K (or .31 miles). They will check in a Lake Redding Pavilion and head across the Diestelhorst bridge. But .31 miles is a long way, so there is a refreshment station on the other side of the bridge where participants can get donuts and coffee.
At the completion of the Half K, all participants get a 1st place medal, as well as a complimentary beer. We will have beer and food vendors, as well as a DJ for those that want to hang out.
An event like this in Texas sold out in 48 hours in its first year and sold out in 14 minutes in its second year. All participants will also receive a t-shirt and a smug oval sticker for your vehicle that says .31.
