4th ANNUAL BE A BLESSING 5K & 1M FUN RUN

Grab your favorite pair of sneakers and join us at our 4th Annual Be A Blessing 5K & 1M Fun Run, a community-wide, family friendly event.  This race not only raises funds to help alleviate childhood hunger in Floyd County, but also raises awareness of the needs of local children.

You can walk, jog, run, or stroll the course at your own pace. Register as an individual or team. This year we will have a largest team award. So, race with your family, your friends, or your co-workers and together, we can serve hungry children in our community.

About Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County

Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County is a 501(c)3 dedicated to alleviating childhood hunger in Floyd County, Indiana.

Just under 1 in 6 Floyd County children face food insecurity. When school dismisses on Friday, 30% of NAFCS pre-k through 6th grade students would leave their classroom unsure of whether they will have enough to eat until school starts again next Monday, if not for the work of Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County.

Through donations from local individuals and companies, Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County is able to ensure that students in need don’t go hungry over the weekend and can return to school ready to learn. Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County serves children at all 9 NAFCS elementary schools and the 3 middle schools in our district.

About the Race

The Be A Blessing 5K & 1M Fun Run is open to all abilities and is not a timed event. On this brisk November morning, you run, walk or stroll along the paved path around the lake at Sam Peden Community Park. It is 1 lap for those who are choosing to do the 1M and 3 laps for those wanting to do the 5K. 

This is a rain/shine event.

PRICING: 

**Race T-shirt guaranteed with each online registration entered by Monday, OCTOBER 14th.

Registrations after Monday, October 14th will receive race t-shirts while supplies last.

Race Day Registration Pricing: Adults 5K & 1M = $40        Youth( 18 & under) 5K & 1M = $20

Creating or Joining a Team

The Be A Blessing 5K & 1M Fun Run is a great event to run as a group. It is easy to start your team as well. When registering, select your registration category, then a "Create/Join a Team" button will appear. Click the button and: 

• To create a team: Click the REGISTER CAPTAIN button and fill in your team name & your information. Share your team name with family & friends to build your team.
• To join a team: Click the REGISTER TEAMMATE button and select a team from the drop down menu. Then, continue to fill out your information.

Awards

Finisher medals will be awarded to all participants. (while supplies last)

Largest Team Award: The award will go to the team with the most registered members.

Photo Release

By registering & participating in the Be A Blessing 5K & 1M Fun Run, you consent to photographs/videos of you to be used for promotional purposes by Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County.

Cancellation & Refund Policy 

A little rain won’t stop us! We will only delay for lightning.

If the in-person race is canceled due to severe weather, an announcement will be made via facebook for the morning of the race. All registered participants will automatically become virtual runners and we will set a date for you to pick up your medal.

There are no refunds for this event.
