Annual Sugar Land Optimist 5 k Run or 2 mile Walk Race Description
Now set in Sugar Lands newly created Memorial Park along the Brazos River, this race is run totally within the confines of the park and features safe running /walking surfaces, ample free parking and real bathrooms with a covered pavilion for sign-up, and award presentations. There will be a costume contest as this years race falls very near Halloween and both a reffle for prizes for all particiipants and a silent auction of many valuable items.
The Ft. Bend Optimist Club Sugar Land sponsors many youth projects and activities including an Oratorical Contest, an Essay contest, support of various youth charity activities and has provided scholarship money to local High School Seniors for now over 30 years. All our proceeds go to local kids and stay in our community.
