5k Walk-a-Thon Race Description
LoveOverPowers welcomes you to a 5K Walk-a-Thon community event in the great outdoors honoring the social workers and firefighters who keep our communities safe.
The 5K Walk-a-Thon aims to raise awareness for the families impacted by the January 2026 Oakland Broadway Fires while supporting Bay Area Community Services in their efforts to raise funds for housing assistance. These funds will help the families who were displaced, as well as individuals and families facing housing insecurity.
LoveOverPowers is a grassroots collective that resist against oppression and nihilism through love, joy, civic engagement and community empowerment. We believe that the power of love can overcome the love of power.
