29th Annual Huntington's Disease Triathlon

The Huntington’s Disease Triathlon is one of the few races in the world of which is operated by a not-for-profit organization. The event is organized solely by volunteers and all net proceeds from the race support research aimed at treating and curing Huntington’s disease.

2020 marks the 29th Anniversary of the Huntington’s Disease Triathlon. Huntington’s disease (HD) is a fatal genetic disorder that leads to the progressive degeneration of nerve cells in the brain resulting in the deterioration of a person’s physical and mental abilities. Today, there are 30,000 symptomatic American’s with HD and more than 200,000 at risk for inheriting the disease. The symptoms of HD have been described as having ALS, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s simultaneously. Every child of a parent with HD has a 50% chance of carrying the faulty gene that is the cause of HD.  It currently has no cure.
