10th Annual RACE for the Orphans 5K Description
Run to change lives! Join more than 1,000 participants on Saturday, May 7, 2022 in beautiful, historic downtown Newnan, Georgia.
ORION Racing will professionally manage the 5K finish line and use RFID chip timing to ensure the most accurate finish times possible. The 5K course is USATF Certified (#GA19094WC) and is a Peachtree Road Race Qualifier.
There will be plenty of space for social distancing, so bring your family and friends to run or walk the streets of downtown Newnan.
Medals and CASH prizes for Top 5K Male & Female winners ($200 1st place, $100 2nd place, $50 3rd place), and awards will be given to the top 3 schools with the most participants.
Through your participation, RACE for the Orphans, Inc., is changing lives and helping bring children home to their forever families. Founded in 2013 with a vision for Raising Awareness, Compassion and Education about the needs of the 150+ million orphans around the world, the annual 5K RACE has grown to over 1,000 participants and volunteers…all committed to raising money for area adopting families.
RACE DETAILS:
Tot Trot for ages 5 and under begins at 7:45 AM
Mia's Mile Fun Run/Walk begins at 8:00 AM
5K begins at 8:30 AM (USATF certified #GA19094WC/Peachtree Road Race Qualifier)
Awards ceremony begins at 9:30 AM
Runners, walkers, and strollers welcome
CASH PRIZES and Medals for Top 3 Overall Male/Female 5K winners ($200 1st place, $100 2nd place, $50 3rd place)
Top 3 Masters receive medals
Top 3 Male/Female in 14 age groups receive medals
Academy Sports Gift Cards for top 3 schools with the most participants
Early packet pickup available at Dragonfly Running Club (10 LaGrange Street, downtown Newnan) on Friday, May 6th from 11 AM to 6 PM. RACE day registration and packet pick-up begins at 7:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Newnan.
RACE T-shirt guaranteed to all who register by Sunday, May 1st.
***Early Registration ends at 11:59 PM on Sunday, May 1st. Price increases by $5.00 for each race category on Monday, May 2nd.
***Online registration ends at 11:59 PM on Wednesday, May 4th.
