RCA Virtual Fly-In

“Why Walk When You Can Fly”

Calling all Pilots, Virtual Pilots, Ground Crew, Flight Crew for the Inaugural RCA 2020 Virtual Fly-In! Join us on our first virtual flight from Dona Ana International Airport (KDNA) in Santa Teresa, NM to the historic Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH) in Oshkosh, WI.

Don't fly? You can still help! Be a member of the GROUND CREW and walk (in conjunction with any other walking you're currently doing) for a total of 10k, or enter he co-pilot category and walk 5k.

Once again, these activities will all be done from the safety and privacy of your own plane, simulator or neighborhood. Keep in mind, there is no physical gathering. 

Funds raised through fees from this event will benefit the Rotary Club of Anthony NM/TX which supports: educational support programs in Southern NM; local food pantries; Experimental Aviation Association (EAA) Chapter 1570, the Flight to Fight, and PolioPlus.

CATEGORIES APPLY TO BOTH PILOTS AND VIRTUAL PILOTS

PILOTS: This event is done IN CONJUNCTION WITH YOUR CURRENT DESTINATIONS. NO EXTRA FLIGHTS AND NO GATHERING IN OSHKOSH! 

Pilots will keep track of the miles they have logged while flying to various destinations of their choice, submitting the miles to our system. Look at the map provided to calculate how many miles are needed to “reach” KOSH from KDNA. Once the miles you have flown reach the total miles to get from KDNA to KOSH, you have completed your virtual flight to our Fly-In! Remember, no extra flight time needed.

VIRTUAL PILOTS: All flying is on a simulator. 

Virtual Pilots will travel from KDNA to KOSH on a flight simulator program of their choosing. Miles logged will be turned in for verification they have completed enough miles to travel from KDNA to KOSH. Turn in your miles logged to our system when you have finished your flight.

CO-PILOTS: Co-Pilots will participate by WALKING/RUNNING 5K to be completed during the same time as the pilots and virtual pilots have to complete their miles. (January 1, 2021 to February 14, 2021) Turn in hours to the system.

GROUND CREW: Ground crew consists of WALKING/RUNNING 10k to be completed during the same time as the pilots and virtual pilots have to complete their miles. (January 1, 2021 to February 14, 2021) Turn in hours to the system.

FBO SPONSORSHIPS: Flight Based Operations (FBO) Sponsors will not have to do any active competition, but will have to turn in their logo/ad to be placed on our web page to promote their business and/or organization. The last day to submit your ad is February 12, 2021.

REMEMBER: Your accomplishments will be shared on our LEADER BOARD!!

FEES:

Pilots:     $50 (medal and mask upon signup/Certificate upon completion)

Co-Pilots:     $50 (medal and mask upon signup/Certificate upon completion) 

Virtual Pilots:     $50 (medal and mask upon signup/Certificate upon completion)

Ground Crew:     $50 (medal and mask upon signup/Certificate upon completion)

FBO Sponsor:     $500 (medal and mask upon signup/Certificate of Sponsorship)

For every person you refer to the race who signs up, you get $5 off. Have 10 people sign up, and race for free!!

Cancellations/Refunds: Unfortunately, there is no refund for this event.

Start date for this event: January 1, 2021 to February 14, 2021. All competitors in all categories will have the exact same amount of time to compete.
