The Kauai Marathon & Half Marathon Reviews
I came with a group of friends and we were all blown away by the topography of this race. The hospitality is unmatched, and they really to make each one of us feel like it was their mission to give us a great time. There was great aid stations, a nice finish, perfect accommodations, and you just feel like you can be part of nature in this race in a way that the big city races don't offer. I will be back.
Kauai Marathon is by far one of the best Marathon events in the world. This was my fourth Marathon here at Kauai. The people live in this area are gifted and I really appreciate the way they Cheered and treating the runners as their guests.. offering fruits, food and spray the water (which cools down when you are running). Awesome! I strongly recommend the runners to take part of the great life time experience! Aloha and Mahalo! The Kauai Half Marathon is truly the best course I’ve experienced. The scenic route is unmatched, and the atmosphere is made even better by the friendly runners and the amazing town supporters who line the course, cheering us on and providing food, water, and encouragement. The community spirit makes the whole race unforgettable. I would definitely do this run again!

- Race course is scenic; beautiful. Enjoyed the pre race warm up and the opening ceremony. - 2022 had more entertainment on the course. Missed this in 2024. - Loved the drums coming down the hill. Having another drum group at mile 5 or 6 hill before the tunnel of trees would be energizing. -Would appreciate gender specific tshirts!!! -Enjoyed race finish location in 2022 & 2024. - Would recommend more substantial food at finish. Sandwiches, mini burritos, Hawaiian buns, bagels, puka dogs, other? -Appreciated the sponsors and race committee!

Running in the Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon is the epitome of a top rated running and environment experience. Gorgeous views, clear roads, warm and caring people! I have participated in 12 of the 15 races and look forward to it annually. We fly from the Pacific Northwest and appreciate the aloha spirit, supportive community, the music and hula dancers along the course. You become Ohana “family.” This year’s race had some of the most beautiful flowering trees along the way up the course. Breathtaking. The Expo is so much fun, and always like a reunion! As we fly home , we bring back the aloha spirit that stays with us through the year.

What a great experience. An extremely well organized run. The course was more than we had anticipated as far as the hills go, but very well supported by the race volunteers and the locals as well. At the finish line I promised myself I would not run it again, but a couple days later my wife and I both agreed to sign up for 2025. Thank you all for a wonderful experience, and we will see you next year

Tough elevation challenges at places... like 4-7 mile area of route... but overall an excellent event. Starts in the dark, on a tiki torch lit road, and by sunrise it can already be hot (it was this year). The course is pretty, with excellent volunteer support and top flight organization. Cold beer at the end was glorious. Worth the trip to Kauai.

We are from Ireland, so when my San Francisco based sister-in-law suggested we do the Kauai marathon, we jumped at the chance. This was Sandra's first marathon back in 2013 and she raved about it. The entire race experience was just phenomenal. The atmosphere on the morning at the start line was so lovely and emotional. There was a feeling that us runners were very special indeed! What we weren't prepared for was the brilliant entertainment along the route from the most enthusiastic performers. There were quite simply outstanding. The course was excellently marked, and a water/aid station every 2/3 miles were a welcome pit stop with the most cheery volunteers offering encouragement and support. The views were spectacular even though the second half of the marathon was quite grueling on those hills. I wasn't expecting those hills in the second half and as I was battling plantar fasciitis 7 weeks before the marathon and unable to train for the last 5 weeks, as we had travelled 15,000 miles there was no way I wasn't doing this marathon. I turned up at the start line not knowing what to expect of myself or the course! Which was just as well. The unwavering support along the course route and absolutely stunning views got me through to the finish line. What an absolutely amazing experience. Huge thanks to all the fantastic volunteers, the Police Department and the organisers who we chatted to at the end of the race. It was without doubt a bucket list marathon experience. Thank you for an amazing day. Highly recommended :-) Go raibh míle maith agat X

A great experience! Kauai was beautiful. We loved every moment!!
Start off to tiki torches and excitement, run through a tree tunnel, get cheered on by hula dancers, drummers, and more, see the ocean as you near the end, and finish with a party by the beach! Doesn't that sound like the best race ever!
