Burke-Gilman Half Marathon for Sane Climate Policy Race Description

Do you think that climate policy should be based on actual facts? Would you like your housing to stay above sea level? Come to the Burke Gilman Half Marathon and 6 Mile run! Start at Gasworks Park and follow the Burke Gilman trail for a beautiful on-foot tour of Seattle. The 6 Mile run follows the Cheshiahud Loop around South Lake Union, ending back at Gasworks with a raffle, delicious pie courtesy of 314 and a sense of accomplishment. The Half Marathon goes all the way up to the Kenmore Community Center where all of-age finishers get a technical shirt, a drink and delicious Po Boys on us.  All proceeds go to the Natural Resources Defense Council so that decency and common sense can afford to lawyer up.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS RACE

This race was an absolute joke and a complete waste of money. I trained for months and worked my ass off and they didn't even provide bibs, the race was not clearly marked, no medals were handed out and on top of all that NO WATER UNTIL THE 11TH MILE. I was promised a refund that I still have not received. I emailed the contact I spoke to to inquire about the refund and conveniently that email does not exist any more. So irritated by this entire experience.

Wow! Good idea, poor execution. I'd give the race a bit of grace for maiden voyage but way to many problems. No start line, no bibs, very little water on course, no timer, no finish line, finish line hidden from racers, lyft rides back to start line...

Zero organization

No signage at all, even at start/finish. No course marshalls. 4 aid stations that consisted of unattended coolers of water and some cups. No timing/no results. Beautiful course along the Trail, but that's about it. Save your money for professionally-organized events.
