Not the race it used to be
As the saying goes, "back in the day" in the 1990's. . . The Jingle Bell Run used to be filled with activity, a great pre and after party filled with bands, children's activities and just plain fun. People dressed in costumes and for sure had the 'jingle bells' jingling as they took each step. Even before COVID hit our country the run began to lack in excitement and energy. Don't know what happened exactly? Numbers of participants went down, lack of interaction activities etc. Whatever is was, we can't blame COVID for all of it. I hope 2022 proves better. I come back each year to support the foundation even though I don't suffer from arthritis. I know those who work to put on this event work hard. The however, is the reality that Jingle Bell Run lacks the numbers of runners, the overall feel of holiday excitement and a large group of vendors.
