Come run the 18th Forever Young Run & Walk in Placitas this October 29th at 9:00 a.m.
Sponsored by the Albuquerque Road Runners
Race fee is $35 (for online registration) in each event. On-line registration ends at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26th. Registration is non-refundable unless the race is cancelled.
Runners can also register at Heart and Sole during pre-packet pick up (see below). $40, Cash or check only.
Day of race registration is $40 (cash or check only). Day of race registration and packet pickup is between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m.

The first 200 to pick up their race packets will receive a Forever Young commemorative hoodie.

3601 Eubank NE: Saturday, October 28, 4:00-6 p.m.
This race is a celebration in memory of Albuquerque Roadrunner member Charlie Young, an avid runner, cyclist and outdoorsman, who was killed in a cycling accident in Colorado in August 2004. Since Charlie always ran without a shirt, even in the dead of winter, participants are encouraged to run shirtless (not topless) in his memory.
Charlie lived in Placitas, so the race is held on a dirt loop course in Placitas with rolling hills in a beautiful pinon/juniper area. Choose a 6 mile run or a 3 mile run/walk.
Awards will be presented to top 3 finishers in each category of each event. Refreshments, including breakfast burritos, will be served!
A portion of proceeds benefits local non-profit groups.
Directions: Take I-25 north from Albuquerque to Exit 242. Go East on Hwy 165 for 2.1 miles. The start is approximately 1/2 mile East of Homestead Village shopping mall (which is on the North side of the road). Start area is on the South side of the road. OK to park on the shoulder.

My favorite Abq race
This race can't be beat. It is a challenging course with great organization, friendly volunteers, fair pricing, and excellent post-race food. The course is completely on hard-packed dirt with varying elecation, which makes it much more interesting than your run of the mill road course.

This race is awesome. The scenery is beautiful, the price is right, the shirts are amazing, the organizers are friendly, and the burritos and beer afterward can't be beat!
Favorite Run
I absolutely love this trail run. It's a smaller group, but includes families and even allows dogs. I've done both the 5K, as well as the 10K and both are laid out well, with a few hills on both runs. The 5K is out and back and the 10K is a loop. Beautiful views, great burritos, awesome shirts and a wonderful volunteer group. Thank you again and see you next year!!!
