6 Mile and 3 Mile Run/Walk
This race is a celebration in memory of ARR member Charlie Young, an avid runner, cyclist and outdoorsman, who was killed in a cycling accident in Colorado in August 2004. Since Charlie always ran without a shirt, even in the
dead of winter, participants are encouraged to run shirtless (not topless) in his memory.
Charlie lived in Placitas, so the race is held on a dirt loop course in Placitas with rolling hills in a beautiful
pinon/juniper area. 
The 6 mile route is a full loop of the Forest Loop Road in Placitas, NM. It's a challenging course on a wide dirt road.
The 3 mile event follows the 6-mile course for the first 1.5 miles, then turns around to head back to the start/finish area.
Age Groups
0-15 16-25 26-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70+
Awards will be presented to top 3 finishers in each category of each event.
Refreshments, including breakfast burritos, will be served!
ENTRY FEE
Registration is non-refundable unless the race is cancelled.

DIRECTIONS
Take I-25 north from Albuquerque to Exit 242. Go East on Hwy 165 for 2.8 miles. The start is approximately
1/2 mile East of Homestead Village shopping mall (which is on the North side of the road). Start area is on
the South side of the road. Park diagonally on the highway shoulder, but take care not to block entrances.

This race can't be beat. It is a challenging course with great organization, friendly volunteers, fair pricing, and excellent post-race food. The course is completely on hard-packed dirt with varying elecation, which makes it much more interesting than your run of the mill road course.
