Corvette's 2nd Annual Ring Road walk/run Race Description

Every year Bowling Green Assembly raises money for the United Negro College Fund by throwing the Ring Road walk/run.  This year we are teaming up with the CACW and would like to open it up so the public can participate.   We believe a mind is a terrible thing to waste and with your help you can help send more under privilege kids off to college.

Facts about the UNCF(found on https//uncf.org ):

  • Founded in 1944 to help more African American students attend and graduate from college.
  • The UNCF has help more than double the number of minorities attending college.
  • $83 million+ in scholarships awarded to students by UNCF every year.86%
  • 8,000+ students graduate annually from UNCF-member college and universities.
  •  86% of every dollar raised goes to student support and scholarships.
  • 500,000+ students with college degrees, thanks to UNCF.
  • 70% graduation rate for UNCF scholarship recipients is nine percentage point higher than the national average for all students at four-year college.
  • Common misconception is that the UNCF only helps African Americans when in fact, this organization admits students without reference to race or ethnicity.

*ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE UNITED NEGRO COLLEGE FUND(UNCF)

Corvette 2nd Annual Ring Road Run/Walk

Great race! Level course and perfect for beginners who want to check off their New Year's Resolution to finish a race. Great music, water stops, timed-race, course photographers to capture the moment, Krispy Kreme donuts, cornhole and photography experience pre/post race. Only improvements I would recommend is more door prizes (they only gave away one) AND share all of the course photos with the participants to memorialize their efforts to make this event a success. Our family drove over an hour to participate and had a blast!
