RACE WAIVER OF LIABILITY SECTION: In completion of registration in the 2017 Thanksgiving Point Race events, of my own free will, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and personal representatives, hereby forever waive, release and give up all claims, demands, liability, damages, costs, expenses of any kind whatsoever and I agree not to sue Thanksgiving Point Institute, any sponsor, organizer, volunteer, volunteer organization, contractor, subcontractor or administrator of Thanksgiving Point Institute events or of any of the foregoing with respect to any claim that may arise in connection with the Thanksgiving Point race series events or any related activity or my participation therein, including any and all claims of personal injury, wrongful death or property damage. I attest that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained to participate in the Thanksgiving Point race series event I have registered for. I understand that physical events are dangerous activities that no warranty is made concerning their safety or that of the locales where they are run and that traffic control terminates based on a 3.5-hour runner ½ marathon finishing time. I hereby assume all risk in connection with my participation in Thanksgiving Point race series events and related activities, including traveling to or from the event, even if caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other fault of the parties or persons I am hereby releasing, by the dangerous or defective condition of any property or equipment owned, maintained, or controlled by them and/or because of their liability without fault. I fully understand I am forever giving up, in advance, any right to sue or make any claim against the parties I am releasing if I suffer such injuries and damages, even though I do not know what or how extensive those injuries and damages might be, and am voluntarily assuming the risk of such injuries and damages. I understand that in all cases, my race fee is non-refundable and / or transferable based on date guidelines and only applies to the current registration events. I further understand that the fee is nonrefundable if the event is canceled due to the threat of or acts of God, war, terrorism, disaster, earthquake, government regulation and/or for economic/financial reasons. I understand that there will be a $10 charge to switch to Thanksgiving Point race series event plus any additional fees of the new event. If I downgrade in fees, there will be no refund of the difference and the $10 event change fee will still apply. I hereby consent to the use by Thanksgiving Point Institute and its permitees of my name, photograph, and likeness in connection with my participation in the race & related activities. In addition, if you are registering third parties, you represent and warrant that you have been duly authorized to act as agent on behalf of such parties in performing this event registration. If I am a minor then the undersigned parent/guardian gives permission to a designated MD, RN, EMT, Paramedic, or emergency service providers to provide me with medical attention in the case of an injury or medical problem during my participation in Thanksgiving Point race series and all other related events. I agree to abide by all of the Thanksgiving Point rules outlined here and can also be found at thanksgivingpoint.org/runthankspoint. If I do not abide by these rules, then I understand I could be penalized. The parent/ guardian signing below also agrees to all waiver information.
CANCELLATION POLICY AND EVENT CHANGE REQUESTS: We adhere to the standard race industry policies. All entry fees are non-refundable and/or transferable based on rules and date guidelines as determined for each individual event outlined at thanksgivingpoint.org/raceseries. This is noted on our registration application, and when you register for any of our events you must agree to this policy. You may not give or sell your number to another individual – if you do, this could result in your disqualification as well as the runner who uses your race number. All changes and transfers to any registration or participant information must be submitted by Saturday, April 16th, 2017. Changes can be made through your participant login page on RaceEntry.com, by calling 801.768.2300, or by mail or email. In the event you need to defer your registration to the 2018 race series events, you must submit your request in writing including your name, email address, gender, phone number, and address. Deferrals are also subject to a $10 fee paid at the time of change. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, pregnancy, etc. There are NO exceptions. Any inquiry passed the deadline regarding this policy will be directed back to this page. Runner may request an event change based on availability. All requests must be submitted on RaceEntry.com, or via email and are not guaranteed until we confirm with a new registration ID. The deadline to submit a request is April 16th, 2017, or until the event sells out. Any and all event changes will incur a $10 processing fee. If you are changing to a more expensive event additional registration fees may apply.
