Why Donate to Lighthouse Sanctuary?

There is a great need for long term shelters in the Philippines for children who have been sexually exploited and trafficked.  Lighthouse Sanctuary is stepping up to fill that need and is currently the only shelter for survivors in its region. 

Our awesome friend Julie has given her life for this cause! She left the comforts of her beautiful home and moved to the Philippines with her family to start this Lighthouse Sanctuary for kids who have been rescued from sex trafficking. She has done all the work to make it happen but just needs some funding to complete the project! Lighthouse Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) organization that focuses to meet needs of children-survivors of human trafficking in the Philippines by providing a safe haven and professional rehabilitation services so children can successfully reintegrate back into family life and society.

Lighthouse Sanctuary is a residential style shelter, that will provide a home environment for up to 20 children.  The children will be rescued by professional anti-trafficking agents, who have a partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). 

Once in the home, the children will be provided with counseling, time to be a child and an individualized education.  Lighthouse Sanctuary believes that the family unit is the ideal place for any child and will coordinate with the DSWD to find suitable families for the children.  Whether the family is being reunited, fostering or adopting a child from the shelter, Lighthouse Sanctuary will provide family counseling for up to 2 years following integration. We will maximize our efforts by coordinating and partnering with other organizations that service the needs of children.
