$25 Raised for PAWS of Pittsburg County

Our 7^th Annual 5K9 Mutt Strut for PAWS raised $9174.35 for Partners for Animal Welfare (PAWS)! That was about our 2^nd best fundraising effort, and we have our goals set high this year to beat our best!

For our 8^th year, we are on the Choctaw Nation PACE schedule. This means our runner turn out will be much higher! In 2019 with PACE, over 225 people participated in the Mutt Strut. Our expectation is a great turn out since everyone is excited for the return of engaging activities. We are happy to have our sponsors join us on race day to engage potential consumers. Otherwise, please feel free to send any goodies, fliers, or other promotional material that we will place in their race packets. We plan to utilize the Pelican cooler as our incentive again this year. However, we are open to suggestions if anyone has other ideas!

The money raised during the event went to fund a medical-needs program for PAWS, instead of the spay and neuter program (which is still being funded by other means). Due to lack of funding, the medical program had been placed on hold years ago. Now, all local veterinarians can request money from PAWS to help a patient whose owners would be unable to afford treatment otherwise. This past month, we utilized money to help an elderly client living on social security whose dog needed dental work. If you would like more detail on the logistics of this program, I am happy to have a conversation with you.
