With education at the heart of its mission, Milagro House provides women and their children with a safe space to live and empowers them with a scaffolding of services to support them as they work to achieve education, gain essential skills, and plan for the future.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING: Milagro House offers two educational options for women: high school equivalency classes through our Milagro House Education Center and/or a post-secondary credential through partnerships with various local colleges, universities, or trade schools. Milagro House also offers non-residential educational programming for women on our waiting list, enabling them to begin their education while awaiting a spot in the residential program.

LIFE SKILLS PROGRAMMING: Educational initiatives are supplemented by comprehensive life-skills programming, including financial literacy, budgeting, parenting, nutrition, healthy relationships, and self-care.

INTENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT: A customized case management plan is developed for each woman to support personal goals that dovetail with her educational goals. Women identify areas for growth and connect with community resources that support their individualized journeys.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE: A customized career plan is developed to support individualized education plans. Women participate in career workshops, internships, career mentoring, and industry tours. This initiative helps women secure employment at a family-sustaining wage and benefits employers looking for qualified employees.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING: Children aged birth to 12 live with their mothers at Milagro House. Programming promotes parent-child interaction, healthy development, and access to child-centered materials that foster healthy play, literacy, kindergarten readiness, and elementary-age academic development.
