COVID Waiver for In-person participants

PACKET PICKUP & REGISTRATION Online registration only. Packet pickup will be offered off

site prior to race day. Packets may be available for pick up race day morning. Virtual participants who cannot pick up their packet at specific packet pickups will have theirs mailed to them.

PRE-RACE SELF-CHECK INFORMATION The race registration page, registration confirmation email, and race day information emails to participants will state that participants, spectators and volunteers should not attend packet pickup and the race unless they have been in good health and symptom free from any illness for 2 weeks and they have not been exposed to someone else who has been sick in the last 2 weeks. Furthermore, runners and volunteers who have travelled internationally within the last 2 weeks will be advised not to attend the race. Lastly, people age 65+ or medically vulnerable people (chronic lung disease, moderate to severe asthma, serious heart conditions, severe obesity, immunocompromised, diabetes, chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis, liver disease) should take into consideration their own medical situations regarding attending packet pickup and the event.

FACE MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING All attendees will be required to wear a mask and

social distance before and after the race. Runners will be required to wear a mask before they cross the start line and after they cross the finish line. Anyone who refuses to operate with this requirement will be asked to immediately leave. We will encourage everyone to bring their own mask but will also provide masks to participants as they arrive and at the finish line after the race.

SIGNAGE Signage will be placed throughout the event site reminding runners to wear a mask and to maintain a safe social distance of at least 6 feet.

HAND SANITIZER DISPENSERS / DISINFECTING Hand sanitizers will be placed in port-a-potties and any open park bathrooms and at strategic locations throughout the event site. Hand sanitizer will contain at least 60% alcohol and meet all CDC guidelines for such products. Designated staff to constantly wipe down “high touch point” surfaces (e.g. bathroom door handles) with spray disinfectant.

RACE Start: The start of the race will be staggered, as opposed to the conventional mass start. Race participants will sign up or be assigned to start times with 10 participants starting every 3 minutes.  This staggered time trial type of start will significantly spread out the field of runners on the course.

Runners may only pass one another when sufficient space is available. Unless extreme heat is expected during the time of the event, a water station will not be available on course. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water if they expect to need it. If we do provide a water station, Volunteers wearing gloves and masks will hand out pre-filled water cups to participants. Volunteers will pick up discarded cups. Hand sanitizer will be available at the water station.

Finish: Bottled water will be handed out to participants by volunteers wearing masks and gloves. Runners will not be allowed to congregate in the finish line area but asked to move

through quickly to allow for proper social distancing. Runners will be scored by net chip time including the overall winners which is the elapsed time between when a runner crosses the timing mats at the start and finish lines. No printed race results on-site to avoid congestion of runners at result boards and displays. Results can be streamed live to the internet where runners can check their times on their smart phones.

POST-RACE REFRESHMENTS Pre-packaged picnic items pre-purchased by participants will be available at the finish from volunteers wearing gloves and masks. The food line will be set up to ensure 6 ft social distancing. No self-serve items will be offered.

SPECTATORS Spectators will be limited to only those accompanying a minor or a runner needing assistance. Spectators will be required to wear a mask when in one of the race finish or start areas.

COVID NOTIFICATION PLAN: A notification plan will be implemented. In case anyone becomes ill or shows any symptoms of Covid-19, participants, volunteers, spectators and event staff will be notified (keeping HIPAA privacy issues in mind) of such a circumstance so that they may choose to take appropriate action to protect themselves, such as

testing for exposure to the virus or voluntary self-quarantine. Also, public health authorities

should be immediately notified, and every effort should be made to assist them with contact tracing to identify possible exposures and pathways of viral spread.

WAIVER: I, the undersigned participant (and my parent or guardian if I am younger than 18 years of age), intending to be legally bound, do hereby forever release and waive any and all rights, claims, and actions for damages that we, our heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns may have, or that may hereafter accrue against any and all persons, organizations, and other entities associated with the event, including, but not limited to Race Entry, USA Track and Field, sponsors, affiliates, volunteers, Dad's Day Dash, and individual Dad's Day Dash organizers, arising out of or in connection with my involvement before, during, or after the event.

I verify that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained to participate in this event and I assume the risks involved in this activity. I further attest that I will be mindful of traffic along the race course, and hold said sponsors and organizers blameless in any harm that may happen.

I consent to the collection and use of my Personal Information as contained in the Privacy Policy. I also give my permission for the free use of my name and/or pictures in telecasts, broadcasts, newspapers, posters, advertising, etc.
