About FAITH Neighborhood Center
FAITH Neighborhood Center provides support to low income families and individuals in South Lake County by offering assistance in areas such as: food, clothing, small appliances, miscellaneous household items, financial support for families about to have their utilities turned off, medical support, educational/training opportunities, and assistance applying for food stamps, Medicaid, and Emergency Assistance. Between January and June of 2017 FAITH Neighborhood Center served 4,560 families; 1,630 seniors; 7,009 children; 16,301 individuals; and served 163,000 pounds of food to the community. FAITH Neighborhood Center can feed a family of four, three meals a day, for four days with just $10, and is raising money to purchase a refrigerated truck so that they can make food drops that contain perishable items to food deserts in the area. The City of Groveland Parks & Recreation Department believes that raising funds that will help provide the residents of our community with free access to healthy, nutritious foods is a priority that will enhance the overall quality of life of our community and help to promote a sense of community in Groveland.
