About BIG STEPS for Little Friends
For five decades, Nihonmachi Little Friends has been a vibrant center of learning, growth, and community for generations of children and families. From the beginning, our programs have been deeply rooted in Japanese language and practices and shaped by a strong commitment to multiculturalism. Our legacy is built on the heartfelt dedication of our educators, the joy and wonder in each child's learning journey, and the enduring strength of a community that celebrates cultural heritage, inclusion, and connection.
We envision a world made gentler by the children we nurture. Children who carry the wonder of their earliest years with them always. Grounded in the security, joy, and curiosity nurtured in their first five years and beyond at NLF, they grow into adults who lead with empathy, rooted in facts, and hold space for one another's differences. The cultures and languages that shape them, they become bridge-builders, carrying forward a spirit of community, care, and connection to build a more just world.
