Event Details Video

Equipment rules:

-Must bring your own pack

-Must bring your own pack weight (see division pack weight below)

-No scopes or magnification of any kind

-Binos and rangefinders CAN BE USED on both the challenge/MTN course and the 3D course.

-Must carry arrows in a bow quiver, or pack only.

Event Schedule

Satuday July 6th

6:30-8:00am: Competitors Check-in

8:15: Mandatory Competitor Meeting

9:00: Challenge Course/MTN Course Heats Begin

*We will be starting heats of 5-10 competitors from the same division every 15 minutes.

Saturday Night Social- TBA

Sunday, July 7th

8:00: Mandatory Competitor Meeting 

9:00: Hunters 3D Course (Shotgun Start)

12:00: Awards Ceremony

Divisions/Challenge/Pack weights

*Competitors must bring their own pack weight.  Packs will be weighed before each heat starts.

*Challenge Course sandbags will be supplied by TTH.

Teen Boys- ages 13-15

Challenge/Pack weight: 30lbs

Teen Girls- ages 13-15

Challenge/Pack weight: 20lbs

Men's Open- ages 16-39

Challenge/Pack weight: 50lbs

Women's Open- ages 16-39

Challenge/Pack weight: 30lbs

Men's Masters- ages 40-49

Challenge/Pack weight: 40lbs

Women's Masters- ages 40-49

Challenge/Pack weight: 20lbs

Men's Super Masters- ages 50-59

Challenge/Pack weight: 30lbs

Women's Super Masters- ages 50-59

Challenge/Pack weight: 10lbs

Men's Senior Masters- ages 60+

Challenge/Pack weight: 20lbs

Women Senior Masters- ages 60+

Challenge/Pack weight: 5lbs

The Team Competition

*You do not have to be on a team to compete, but if you do have a team, you will need to sign up as a member of your team during registration.

*Teams- 2 or 3 members per team.  No age or gender requirements.

*The Top two scores on each team will count toward the over all team score in each event.  

*Teams of two will combine the individual efforts of both members to come up with the team totals for each event and the Over all event total.

**Teams of three will have the lowest score in each event eliminated from the over all team totals for each event.

Challenge Course/MTN Course Adjusted Time: 20:01

3D Score: 70 (This Score would NOT count for the Teams Overall 3D Event)

Member B

Challenge Course/MTN Course Adjusted Time:  25:20

3D Score: 85

Member C

Challenge Course/MTN Course Adjusted Time:  30:00 (This time would NOT count for the Teams Challenge Mountain Course Event)

3D Score: 80

Team Totals:

Challenge Course/MTN Course Adjusted Time: 45:21

3D Score: 165 = 8:45

Teams Total Time for the Event:  54:06

Challenge Course Details

20 Over The Box Step Ups

Run (200-300 yards)

Shoot 1 arrow (Compound 30yds -Trad 15yds)

10 Ground to Shoulder/Over the Box

Run (200-300 yards)

Shoot 1 arrow (Compound 30yds -Trad 15yds)

10 Burpee/Over the Box

Run (200-300 yards)

Shoot 1 arrow (Compound 30yds -Trad 15yds)

10 Sandbag get ups/Over the Box

Run (200-300 yards)

Shoot 1 arrow (Compound 30yds -Trad 15yds)

Put Pack on and hit the MTN Course (1 mile)

MTN Course Details

1-2 miles long depending on terrain.

Competitors will shoot two animal 3D targets along the way. 

Targets are between 20-60 yards for compounds / 10-30 yards for traditional

Scoring the Challenge/MTN Course

Run Time + Shooting Penalties = Adjusted Time

Run Time: 

This is how long it takes you from start to finish to get through the Challenge Course and MTN Course.

Shooting Penalties for Challenge/MTN Course:

Heart Shot (10 ring) = No Time Penalty

Lung Shot (8 ring) = +30 seconds 

Body Shot (Any foam outside 8 ring)=+1 minute

Miss = 20 burpee penalty (no time penalty)

Adjusted Time:

Official time that will be used to place competitors.

Hunters 3D Course Details

20 foam 3D animal targets

Target distance: 

Compounds 3-60 yards / 30 yard average

Traditional 3-30 yards / 15 yard average

Scoring:

Traditional 10 ring = 5 pts = no penalty

Traditional 8 ring = 3 pts= 30 second penalty

Foam outside 8 ring = 1pt= 1 minute penalty

Miss = 0 pts = 1:15 penalty

Competitors 3D scores will be converted into time format. 

-1 point = :15 second time penalty

Example:  Score: 80  =  Time penalty 5:00

Overall Scoring:

Challenge Course/MTN Course + 3D Time Penalty = Total Time 

Competitors will be placed according to their Total Time.

Awards

Top 3 in each division will receive metals.

Top 3 Men's Overall will receive metals and prizes (TBA)

Top 3 Women's Overall will receive metals and prizes (TBA)

Top Team will receive metals and Prizes (TBA)

EVERYONE WHO FINISHES WILL QUALIFY FOR THE 2019 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Top 20 percent of Men/Women/Teams earn the right to compete in the Elite Division at the National Championships on July 13th-14th at Powderhorn Ski Resort in Mesa, Colorado.
