Race Description

Lace up your sneakers and get ready for the fifth annual Thin Mint Sprint!

Fueled by Thin Mints and Girl Scout smiles, the Thin Mint Sprint is a celebration of Girl Scouts, being active, and community involvement. And since it's open to the public, anyone can come out and enjoy a few Thin Mints along the way. Literally - we are handing them out along the course!

Meandering along trails in and around Carson Park in Eau Claire, WI, the 5K and 10K courses are sure to top your list of favorite runs this year. Competitive runners appreciate that both courses are chip-timed, and casual fitness seekers love the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Don't miss our kids' half-mile Shortbread Shuffle run! Kids get to run against our very own cookie mascots and have a blast trying to beat them across the finish line.

Girl Scouts know how to celebrate successes, and the Thin Mint Sprint is no exception. Get your groove on with music and inflatables provided by Rock n' Roll To Go Plus! and visit our partners' and supporters' booths to learn about other awesome offerings in our area. There will be plenty of entertainment before and after the races.

We're looking forward to seeing you on June 17 for the sweetest race around!

Chip timing for the Thin Mint Sprint 5K and 10K will be provided by Tortoise and Hare Timing. Instructions will be included in your packet. Results will be posted at the race as well as online after the race. The Shortbread Shuffle will not be timed.

Will there be prizes?

Oh yes. Youth (ages 0 - 9) who participate in the Shortbread Shuffle will receive a participation medal after the race, and the first, second, and third place finishers will get a special medal. For the Thin Mint Sprint 5K and 10K, the top female and male overall finishers will receive a custom cookie jar trophy. Where do I find the race results?

Race results can be found at www.tandhtiming.com as well as on www.gsnwgl.org. Please allow 73 hours after the race for posting.

What time should I get there for the race?

For the Shortbread Shuffle, we encourage those who have picked up their race packet early to arrive no later than 8:15 a.m. For the Thin Mint Sprint 5K and 10K, we suggest participants who have picked up their race packet early to arrive around 15 minutes prior to the start of their race. If you plan to pick up your packet on the morning of the race, please do so between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m. Races will start promptly at 8:30 for the Shortbread Shuffle, 9:00 for the Thin Mint Sprint 10K, and 9:15 for the Thin Mint Sprint 5K.

What should I bring to the race?

If you have picked up your packet early, do not forget your chip timer and your race bib. We suggest you leave valuables and other personal belongings in your car or on your person at all times as we will not have a secure place for you to put these things during the race.

Are strollers allowed?

Certainly! Children who will be pushed in strollers or pulled in wagons do not need to pay the registration fee. Note that this means they will not receive a t-shirt or swag bag. If you would like these items for your children in strollers, they would need to pay the registration fee. Children in strollers will not be chip timed and will not be eligible for awards.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets will not be allowed to run along with participants.

I LOVE the Thin Mint Sprint. I do it every year with my girls! It is an excellent opportunity to spend time with my young troop, work as a team to encourage one another to finish the race, and we always have fun playing the games at the end. It is such an encouragement and for our troop to cheer one another on and support one another to the end!

Good family fun!

I love races that include kids events and activities. My husband doesn't run, so he was able to watch my kids bounce on the bouncy houses and dance to the music while I ran. And having Thin Mints at the water stations was awesome!

Exciting fun for all ages!

My family loves the Thin Mint Sprint! There are fun activities before and after the race. In 2015 we had my 10 year old, 6 month old, myself, and grandma! It truly is fun for everyone!
