Race Description

Welcome to the second annual Southeastern Guide Dog Wag N' Run.

Wag N' Run - March 24, 2018

  • Gates open at 6:30am
  • 5k start time: 7:30am
  • Join us after the run to kick off the the 3k Walk with our traditional Opening Ceremonies which start at 9:30am
  • You are welcome to also join us on the 3k Walk (which is dog and stroller friendly). Walk starts at 10am.

We have changed our no dog on run rule. You can now officially run the race with your pup.  However, you will be asked to start in the back of the race and stick to the side at all times.  Please be very mindful of other runners.  And of course, please keep yourself and your dog hydrated.  We will have ample water stations along the course.

Plenty of parking will be available.

Register today to take advantage of the discounted entry fee. Prices will increase starting November 1st.

Open to all ages.

Important Notes:

  • You have a few options for Packet Pick Up. You can stop by the Fit2Run Store at UTC Mall on Saturday, March 17th between noon and 4pm. Or on Thursday, March 22nd at Fit2Run (UTC Mall) between 3:30pm and 7pm. You will be able to pick up your bib, tee-shirt and runner's bag. If you can't make it to either of those dates, you can of course pick up your bib the morning of the race.
  • We will still have a 3k walk available and registration is not required to walk. To find out more about the walk, please visit our website: www.guidedogswalkathon.org
  • If you are interested in fundraising for an incentive item (such as a Tervis Tumbler or Visor, etc.) Please visit our website www.guidedogswalkathon.org and register separately.  The run and the walkathon fundraising are separate and can not be combined.

Great location. Friendly volunteers, great cause. A few suggestions would be to have water available at the finish line and a group of volunteers and possibly dogs at the corner where it turned down to the finish line. Also, the finishing results were unclear and not posted afterwards online. I didn't like the participation medals, my group would have preferred finishing medals instead.

Can't wait for this race!

I'm so excited for this run! I am a big supporter of Southeastern Guide Dogs and have participated in the Walkathons for the past few years. Love that you are adding a run option. And Nathan Benderson is a beautiful park. Can't wait to run for the dogs on March 18th.
