Race Description

Griffith Luau 5k/10k Run/Walk will be a virtual run due to COVID-19. The city is not granting permits for large gatherings therefore Roxx Events as many other events have switched from a traditional running events to a VIRTUAL RUNs for everyone's safety. We will take on the additional work and cost of shipping out your medals and shirts. Every registered participant gets a custom shirt and  medal. For those who have never run a virtual run, this means you will have the flexibility to run a 5k or 10k on your own time and any location. We will ship out your goodies a few days before the date of the Virtual run which is schedule to be on August 8, 2020.  The virtual run is perfect to motivate family and friends to keep active during this pandemic! This event benefits SUPPORT SOLUTIONS  www.supportsolutionssgv.org, a non-profit organization, which helps homeless people find jobs. We will keep you updated on any further changes. I enjoyed the atmosphere. I was disappointed that the national anthem wasn't played. The route was not clearly marked and the workers didn't know the route either. Based on my timing I ran about 1 mile longer than I needed, due to the staff directing us wrong. I felt good after the run, but was a little disappointed in the overall organization. Results for 10k not available after the race.

Griffith Luau 5K, 10K & Kids 1K Run/Walk

Great experience! The atmosphere is fun! Registration was easy , everyone was helpful and friendly. The course Is packed dirt with a bit of sand so it was a bit more challenging to run on But it ok because it's different! 2nd year and definitely coming back!

I ran and they don't even have me listed...no name or clock time. Jeremy is right..no markers and workers didn't seem to know route. No times posted nor awards given after race.

Griffith Luau 5k

I like the course, but it needs to start at 7:00 due to the summer heat. Also I was disappointed that they didn’t have age group awards this year. I waited around for nothing. The results were not online either as we were told that they would be. I probably won’t do the race again.

This was my first 10k race. I’m so disappointed because I think I was cheated out of the 10k. On my 2nd loop I was not directed by the 2 guys who had erased the sign. They should have told me to go straight instead of turning the curve. I noticed i was out there for a period of time by myself😳 by me talking with my sister-in-law I missed the full route.
